| Patti Zeigler
Zeigler is an intimate painter of still life's whose commitment is to a simple and realiistic format. While striving to find the fright shape, the right color and the right order, her self- imposed limitation of macchiaoli (the color patch) enhances a "classical illusion" that at first glance seems very realistic, but at close range has strong sense of the paint's material texture. "In my work I utilize everyday objects to create colorful realistic still life paintings. May layer of vibrant color are applied to a smooth surface panel to achieve a rich and radiant surface. "I strive to paint the essential beauty inherent in every object as honestly as possilbe while enjoying the challenges of making a three dimensional object look realistic with a two dimensional meidum. "Brush strokes, shadow, space and design are the critical elements used to capture the form of an object and express it in term of paint." Zeigler's work is exhibited in galleries across North America. She presently resides in Dorset, VT.
