EXHIBITION AT GRAFTON PROSPECTUS

WORKS ELIGIBLE:

Paintings:

  • Oil, pastel watercolor acrylic, and mixed media of these elements. NO CRAFTS, PHOTOGRAPHS, COMPUTER GENERATED ART OR STUDENT ART will be accepted.

  • Size limitations for paintings: 48 “ max width and height including frame.

  • All paintings must be suitable framed, ready to hang with firm frames, sturdy screw eyes and strong wire.

Sculptures in the round:

  • Dimensions: 40”high x 24” wide maximum, excluding base.

  • Weight: 150 lbs maximum

  • Must bring pedestals

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR JURY

Paintings:

  • Slides: 35 mm color slide in standard 2”x2” cardboard or plastic mounts. (No oversize slides, no glass slides, no heavy plastic mounts, as they will not fit into projector and cannot be juried.)

    1. On each slide, print your name, medium, size and indicate top.

    2. Do not use tape or staples on slides.

    3. Include self address envelope if you wish your slides returned.

OR

  • CD: should be jpeg format.

    1. On each CD, print your name, medium, and work.

    2. Include self address envelope if you wish your CD returned.

Sculptures:

  • Slides: 3 slides of one work showing three different views. DO NOT SUBMIT PHOTOGRAPHS

Entry Fee:

There is a $25 non-refundable entry fee for one work, and a $40 fee for two entries. Check should be made out to event manager Walker Wilson Associates-EG.

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES: JULY 11, 2008

Fill out the form and sign, Work cannot be juried if form is incomplete. Mail form, slide/CD, self addressed envelop, and entry fee to Event Manager: Walker Wilson Associates, PO Box 56; Grafton, VT. 05146

LIABILITY: We suggest that artist carry their own insurance. All reasonable care will be taken with slides and original art. However, Hunter Gallery of Fine Art, Gallery North Star or The Old Tavern, nor anyone connected with the exhibition will be responsible for loss or damage however caused. Your entry into the exhibition constitutes agreement with these terms and conditions.

ACCEPTANCE NOTIFICATION: All entrants will be notified the week of Aug. 4, 2008

RECEIVING: All accepted art must be delivered between Aug. 17 and Aug. 20, 2008 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to Hunter Gallery of Fine Art, 74 Main St., Grafton, VT. 05146, next to The Old Tavern. Acceptance label must be attached to back of work. If you ship your work the Exhibition sponsors will not be responsible for damage incurred, nor return shipment.

HANGING: All accepted work will be hung and placed at the discretion of the hanging committee. Exhibited work cannot be removed by artist before the end of the Exhibition. Only work juried from submission will be hung. No substitutions of work will be permitted.

SALES: Every effort will be made to encourage sales. A commission of 25% will be charged by the Exhibition on all sales related to the exhibition. IMPORTANT: PLEASE MARK THE PRICE, WHICH INCLUDES THE COMMISSION, CLEARLY ON OUR WORK AND ON THE ENTRY FORM. You will be notified by the end of the Exhibition if your work has been sold.

REMOVAL: Thursday Sept. 4, 2008 after 3 p.m. through Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. You or your agent must pick up your work at that time and present the appropriate identification slip. Any work not picked up on Sept. 8 will be put in storage and charged a rental fee.
