"The forested hills and meadows of the uplands; the light, sea and rocks of the northern coast; these are my favorite subjects and inspiration. "I paint in either oil or watercolor. The difference of the mediums effects the approach. Oils have a physical texture and may be somewhat intellectual, whereas watercolor, with its wonderful luminosity and flow is almost visceral. "My painting is representational in a broad sense. To me, a good painting reflects the emotional response to the subject." Bradford is a former director of the Connecticut Watercolor Society, a member of both the Silvermine Guild of Artists and the Rockport Art Association, past President of the New Haven Paint and Clay Club and many other regional artists groups. He has had exhibitions at many galleries throughout the United States and has been a consistent prize winners in juried shows. His work resides in hundreds of private, public and corporate collections throughout the world. |
